Vince says,
“it was much easier than I thought it was going to
be to train and use the software. I was able to
use the Dragon Naturally Speaking software
productively very soon after I was trained."
Today, Vince says he uses his speech recognition
software constantly and has “significantly reduced
the need for manual typing.” He has also expanded
the types of documents and correspondence he
tackles with Dragon Naturally Speaking. According
to Vince, he uses the software “for everything
that previously required typing, including e-mail
correspondence, creating and revising documents,
and completing electronic forms." He added, "The
software is very user-friendly, and far more
versatile than I had expected.”
So thrilled is he
with speech recognition software that Vince has
become a near champion of the cause, in part
because of the improvements and enhancements he
has witnessed in the software in the last few
years. “When I was using the original version,”
Vince says, “I only recommended it to people who
had physical problems that prevented them from
typing because the original version was such a
chore to correct.”
Not so anymore. “Now I think using voice
recognition software makes sense for anyone who
does a lot of typing - even if it's just e-mail
correspondence,” says Vince.

Achieve Results Welcomes Amy Roth Burgess
It is
with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I introduce
myself to you as the newest addition to the sales team
here, at Achieve Results. This is a very fresh start
for me, as I was previously an elementary school
teacher. When I decided I was ready for a change of
pace in my career, I was sure that it was going to be
sales; but I knew it would have to be something that I
was truly motivated by. I took my time looking at
companies that I thought were innovative, and
exciting, because I knew exactly what I wanted, and
making the vast change that I did, I couldn’t afford
to take a chance on someone, I had to know for
certain.
With that, I came upon Achieve Results. I researched
the company and their product, and I was immediately
interested. Speaking rather than typing, made a
tremendous amount of sense to me. I loved the idea
that you could double your productivity on a daily
basis, just by talking! I thought, why isn’t everyone
doing this? I used to be reprimanded for excessive
talking in school; now I am encouraged to talk at
work!
Just a few short weeks have gone by, and I cannot
imagine going back to typing my e-mails, and
documents. I would feel like I was back peddling,
because now I know how productive I can be using my
Dragon, and I love it!

Find a hook
 During
a conversation last week with Bill Hammond, CEO of
Base is Loaded, a research marketing company, I was
reminded how I began using speech recognition software
-- I found a hook that quickly evolved into a
highly productive alternative to typing.
The staff of Base is Loaded input various names and
repetitive short terms into specific fields using the
keyboard. The task is repetitive, burdensome and time
consuming. It was unequivocally determined that the
use of speech recognition software, if only for the
input of certain information into specific fields and
continuing to use the mouse and keyboard for the
remainder, the productivity of Bill’s staff would
increase twofold.
My hook, spelling. My spelling is so inferior
that it limited the effectiveness of my written
communication in addition to making it a very
laborious process. By using speech recognition
software, if I could pronounce the word, I could use
it in my documentation without the burden of my
frequent visit to the dictionary.
