Jo Anna Gagliardi
Practice Administrator
Canandaigua Dental health
|

V. Brian Gagliardi |
Fortunately, about
10 weeks ago the Gagliardis implemented Dragon
NaturallySpeaking at their practice, Canandaigua
Dental Health (www.canadaiguadentalhealth.com),
and Brian’s desk is now visible. “Now he speaks
the notes right after each patient,” says Jo Anna,
making the information visible to everyone who
logs into the electronic records system;
previously hardcopy patient charts had to be
retrieved to be read.
What is even more remarkable is the speed at which
those notes are being completed – mere minutes.
Speech recognition software has “90% better
accuracy than my one-finger typing,” says Jo Anna,
who reiterates that there have been no issues with
accuracy or terminology. So far there have been a
total of three words she has had to add, all the
others were built right in.

Take the typing challenge! Brian Ludwig did!

More
time with his family, Brian Ludwig, Vice President of
Pace Window and Door Corp. acknowledges as the most
significant advantage he has realized from the use of
speech recognition software. I have an extremely
demanding job. The bar needs to be high in order to
maintain the high level of customer satisfaction and
quality products that Pace is known for. More often
than not that means long hours, many of them in front
of his computer. Speaking instead of typing has
dramatically reduced Brian’s workload. He currently
types at a rate of 31 words per minute with a 98%
accuracy and speaks 106 words per minute with a 98%
accuracy.

Life and work have become hectic and complicated.
There's too much to do and not enough time. We rush
from one meeting to another to another. And when we
returned
to the office there are 5, 10, 15, 20 or more
voicemail messages that need to be returned, and
scores of e-mail messages to reply to and we've only
been gone for a few hours.
On our desks are piles of papers that we've got to do
something with. There are letters to write, proposals
to prepare,
thanks to follow up on, and lots of other
miscellaneous stuff that's been hanging around for
days, weeks, or months.

When things
get bad, it is nothing more than needed change that is
seriously overdue.
I
recently heard the following story and found it most
interesting due to the economic changes our nation is
experiencing. Here it goes…
A woman
was walking down the road and passed by a house with a
dog lying on the porch. The dog was moaning and
groaning. She found it so odd she asked the man
standing near the dog, do you know why that dog is
moaning and groaning? The man replied, yes I do. If
you don't mind me asking, why is the dog moaning and
groaning, inquired the woman. Well, he's lying on a
nail, replied the man. Confused, the woman continued,
if it is uncomfortable why doesn't the dog move off
the nail? The dog is not uncomfortable enough to
move, just uncomfortable enough to continue moaning
and groaning.
I have
maintained the steadfast position, there is ALWAYS
opportunity, it’s a personal choice. When things
get bad, it is nothing more than needed change that is
seriously overdue. Opportunity is there, you just
have to get off the nail.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts. Your
comments allow for continuous enhancement to the
services we offer our customers. (585)586-4550 x227
My very best, Dana |
